What else can be found in common, between nano-technology and fire detection technology, definitely there is something interesting in common!
What is it? :)

Benz - why don't you enlighten us?
I know I haven't lost much sleep over it!

I think Nanos do great chicken.... Apollo don't.........!! :D

Wasn't it Mork who used to say "Nano, Nano" ?

Happy Days
Surely, that was a different programme?

Wiz ,
You will find that Mork first appeared in this show , as well as Laverne and Shirley , we both went on to have their own shows respectively , no anorak was hurt while producing this information.
-
Galeon probably chose his name inspired by captain pugwash.
-
Dont forget Chachi and Joanie strated there as well
-
strated? is that an inuendo?

If I knew I would!
I may give a try, but first I need one week OFF, and with no guaranty..., despite nanotechnology is few decades old, it still in its beginning stages... etc :)

Galeon, I'm impressed. In fact, I now have vague recollections of their happy days appearances after your prompt.
Can I therefore now borrow the anorak on a part-time basis?

Prof., Is this really some veiled reference to Master Bates and Roger, the cabin boy?

Don't really have a clue what you are talking about Benz, unless you are referring to the use of nano technology in the manufacture of some fire alarm products. (Nano = ultra small components)

Its actually a myth that there were characters called Master Bates, Roger the Cabin boy and Seaman Staines.

We need to shake up the grey matter, to reveal and generate new better ideas…etc, or at least try to understand the existings... etc :)

Not a fire alarm product but it's rather fire resisting materials....etc
Brilliant, and very good try Wiz, indeed Nano-technology is dealing with particulates as small as (0.000000001 meter) in terms of sizes, they can be produced (designed) or monitored or programmed to do certain tasks, such as changing their behavior from state to other state, when they interact with other sort of particulates or environmental parameters like heat and oxygen availability... etc
These particulates can make the tissue of the new material..., and this material can be used to fight fire on its own...etc, and in that days fire industry with its standards will be radically changed...
It needs a serious research to explain what is what...etc. I my self don't know much, just an idea? :)
-
Yes it does require much research for suitable applications within the fire alarm industry. But its cutting edge research and is the province of university research departments at the moment.
I cannot see any fire alarm manufacturer having the funds to invest - but if anyone has any cash available to sponsor research my son is studying physics at Birmingham Uni and I know they are always looking for sponsors for research into nano technology.

Yeah. I'm having trouble trying to understand the existings.
What about all you others?

Good idea Prof., my son is also at Uni and would appreciate some sponsorship for research.
He is studying drinking and laying in bed
He has got his degree, so he must be quite good at it.
He is now researching a Phd.

Yeah. I'm having trouble trying to understand the existings.
What about all you others?
You see, how it sounds better, particularly when confirming, that even the existings are still not fully understandable.
We are here to play both roles, 'the teacher' and 'the learner' at the same time, and that's what will keep the forum alive :)

And what happens..... a manufacturer introduces a new fire alarm panel around 3-4 weeks ago headed by the marketing stragegy of 'Nano-Technology' and the panel is called Nano :)

Thanks for the link geoff. but I don't see how Nano-Technology, is applied in this new fire alarm panel, the term of Nano gives more impression as it's related to the cutting edge technology...etc but still need to find out if there is is further links to explain the technology of detection...
I personally can imagine Nanotechnology to be applied in some different manner... more related to the materials which doesn’t need any more fire alarm systems to detect fire instead the material itself which doesn't let fire to burn it and transform it into carbons..., in other words it can stop fire from growing and spreading... etc,
This is just my thought ... We need to find out more :)

Benz, but have you heard about Picotechnology?
Picotechnology is a million times newer, smaller and more cutting edge than Nanotechnology.
Therefore nanotechnology is really old-fashioned in comparison. Why are you interested in something that is so, so, so existings? Join us now in tomorrow, instead!
Picotechnology includes things that haven't yet even been thought about!
In the field of fire detection, Picotechnology allows the detection of even the smallest amount of smoke to be signalled to building users just by mental telepathy.
Picotechnology will revolutionize all areas of science.
I have just invented the term Picotechnology and I am licensing the use of the term to any interested parties for any product, concept or service whatsoever and all at very reasonable costs (starting from $1,000 + sales tax)
Contact me now for your invoice.
Picotechnology - The future of everything!
p.s. this time next year I'll be a millionaire! (again!)
In five years I'll be a Picoaire ;)

Look at Mr Mad, how is he spining around, he was the Guy behind the discovery of Pico-Technology and not Wiz

Mr Mad had taken enough smoke, but obviously he doesn't smoke,... well I mean when 'hashish farm' burnt out, he was out there to fight fire. That’s how he caught up a lot of smoke and discovered, Terra-Technology by the way

The doctor said to him you can't stop spining around, till the effect of smoke run out from your blood...

Ah , will it be an EN54 or BS version ,

If the propose behind Nanotechnology is, to make fire so friendly, so it wouldn't burn any more, we will all go home then? In that case unemployment rate will rise up! I don't mind then, if that uneven road remains as it is! (http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr87/BenzFerari/violent51.gif)

Seagulls following boats springs to mind here!!!

It's already under test and prototyping process..., good guess..., see the articles in the links below

My new washing machine uses Nano Silver technology; not a lot of people know that!

Nanotechnology has already been introduced silently in different applications, i.e. the critical length scale of integrated circuits is already at the nanoscale (50 nm and below) regarding the gate length of transistors in CPUs or DRAM devices... etc. But for fire protection and fire detection technology... etc, is just about to see the light... etc

Have a look, to what extent Nanotechnology can expand, see the introduction in page 7, note that recent research articles are a bit expensive to download them... :)
