Title: Secondments to the fire service college

I've applied for a job at the fire service college and all looks good, however my brigade is refusing to support the secondment on the grounds that there is a skills gap in fire safety where i work
Has anyoneone got any advice or comments or had the same thing happen

I know of two colleagues from my brigade that have had the same experience.  At the moment my brigade won't allow any staff to take secondments to the college of knowledge.

........especially as the horror of having to live / work there no longer comes with a substantive promotion - the main reason for suffering it. A beautiful town/area though, shame about the FSC.
