Title: D-Line Fire Clip
Post by: Thomas Brookes on November 19, 2008, 02:36:03 PM
Hello all, I am hoping someone on here may know where we can buy the D-Line Fire Clip or something like it, but cost effectively.  Have a look at the link    http://www.d-line.co.uk/fire_security.html. They hold fire cable inside trunking.

TLC direct sell them but at 37p each !!.

I would be grateful if anyone knows where they or something like can be bought, we will buy about 1000 at a time.

Thanks in advance

Graeme,

how do you fix them (do you drill a hole in them, or are they pre drilled).

Yeah, about 40p each in small quantities, just noticed today that screwfix do them too, about same price.
They must cost pennies to make, large markup!

Im with you, some ones making loads of money on the clips, they do work though.

Buckle clips work out 12p each, massive saving on a big job.

how are you finding them Thomas-hope they are ok?

it is a big saving especially when i you find yourself pricing against another compnay who don't bother using metal clips at all.

D-line is a nice product but you cannot realistically spec it on a quote job unless it has been asked for because the next guy will be using standard trunking.

same as MK Red Alert makes a neater job but it's alot more expensive to use.

Thanks Greame,

They are great, doing first big install next week in Swansea with them so will let you know.
I know what you mean about others not doing it correctly, just been to have a look at a faulty job to see if we can sort it out, plastic trunking lighting cable, plastic chocolate blocks.
I just condemned the job and said if they want us to sortit it will need re-doing. And this was a Local Electrician in a block of flats (three story)

Best Wishes

Tom
