Title: Christmas Decorations
Post by: Geoff on November 19, 2008, 05:51:04 PM
Daft question I know but what is the concensus regarding putting flame retardant christmas decorations on the corridors of sheltered accommodation schemes?

It's beginning to be a real headache for me!

But don't let kids play with this  (http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr87/BenzFerari/violent51.gif)

As long as they are not obstructing any escape routes, securely fixed and they are flame retardant, I can not see a problem.

Wouldn't the sheep mind being treated with intumescent paint and nailed to the floor?

Have you ever tried setting fire to a sheep? they`re all wet and woolly, I wouldn`t worry about the sheep and concentrate on the decorations.

Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhh humbug from me too

Yes so long as fire retardant, well secured shouldn't be a major problem. Best to leave some spacing in between decorations - i.e. dont have miles upon miles of festive streamers linked together just incase the decor does catch fire by the act of rubbing two sheep together!

Could become a problem for fire fighters even if they are fire resistant..

If a fire fighter's only problem is a bit of tinsel then you are doing ok.
