Title: Robots fighting fires ?
Post by: Benzerari on November 19, 2008, 06:53:40 PM
What do you think of robots designed specifically to fight fires..., since robots can see beyond infra red and ultra violet spectrum..., also they can access hotter area where the humans are unable to do... etc

I know guys this will not make fire fighters happy!

Monitored Robots are found to be useful within other fields..., the one I mean by Robots are far away from the terminator and sort of..., it's rather a sort of armoured vehicle with tracks and rotating turret, and a heavy hydraulically monitored hands to hold the hoses they can be so power full to access the hotter area and spray the sources of fires and not their generated flames..., it's an idea which I guess it can be so useful for wild fires one day... etc

Benz,
you really are light years ahead of your time.

Nice thought though, would they be able to get part time jobs as painters on their days off & then set up as fire extinguisher engineers when they retire as well.

It's rather the same fire fighters which may be trained to take the monitoring process of such job…, initially the idea is not to bring up extra terrestrial fire fighters to take over... etc, it might be easier to swallow a loss of robots when fighting fires but not humans though… etc

What did you realize then? Robots have already been used for wars, why not fires?

Come on now Sir Colin.

I know you've had  'monitoring related' issues with my employer before, but surely that was years ago now and I thought we'd made up and were pals again.

As for monitoring, it's worse here than any Orwellian book at the moment when it comes to being monitored. Try typing 'Man' or 'Him' (rather than 'person' or 'him/her') into the firm's PC and see what happens!!!.

Messey, you are right, time is a great healer and one should eventually let bygones be bygones. Tell you what, hit me up again when I am 324 years old and I will review the situation.
