Title: Maintenance Visit
Post by: Galeon on December 16, 2008, 10:26:21 PM
I am under the impression that a yearly 100% visit on a fire system is not compliant unless you go back and check the standby batteries on a separate visit , am I right or am I getting old and my brain needs updating to Vista  ::)

Yes Galeon, you are right.
Whilst some items only have to be tested only annually, others have to be tested on every visit and the maximum period between visits is six months (although the period can, and might have to, be less (depending on assessment))

No dont do that- look what happened to Benz when he upgraded. He talks in riddles and has lost all his data- as a final backup he  has written down all he knows about fire alarms in his new book. Trouble is its just a front cover.

Indeed a minimum of 2 visits per year.

Although when offering a maintenanc contract you need to take into consideration the environment etc, detectors may need cleaning fairly often to prevent false alarming etc, providing this is a good maintenance regime for the client.
