Title: Gravity Descent of Fire/Smoke Curtains
Post by: Gasmeter on January 06, 2009, 12:43:05 PM
I'm trying to find out if gravity descent on mains power failure is required for fire and smoke curtains, I know BS476 applies but I don't know where to find the appropriate specification regarding failure of the power supply. Related to this, is a battery back up/UPS also required?

The fire alarm signal to this equipment should be wired fail safe , and indeed all the smoke curtain panels that I have any dealings with should be the same.

EN12101_Pt.1:2006 covers this for smoke curtains.
