Title: Anyone used "The Fire Beam"? - Any feedback
Post by: Barry-C on January 12, 2009, 08:06:54 PM
It's a beam detector that aligns it self & all maintenance can be done from ground level.

Nearly sounds to good to be true.

Has anyone used this?

yes and it's a brilliant product. I would recommend it highly and their tech support is very good.

Once you have done one it's a doddle and the first time is easy provided you follow all the steps in the set up guide properly.

We've put in quite a few and would agree they are very good ... would never want to go back to the pain and suffering of aligning "normal" beams....

The only downfall we became aware of was using them in a dockyard where they were affected by early morning fog rolling in off the river ... the beams tried to re-align (reflecting off the fog and not the reflector) and when the fog dissipated the beams ended up going into alarm.

The problem was cured by a software change that stopped the beams from re-aligning...

We used them, great bit of kit.

Sits there all day self aligning.

even tells you the air qaulity all day long

we recently installed one and i got one of my trainees to set it up, he did it in minutes and it works perfect.
