Title: Hertfordshire
Post by: Evo on February 16, 2009, 08:54:09 AM
Hello Guys,

I've just applied for Herts wholetime, waiting on the response of the sift. Has anyone heard yet?

Secondly, i understand that Herts postcodes will get preference, how does that work? Surely at the initial sift they can only score you based on the PQA's? I mean, say i had the top score out of all applicants, can they then still sift me out because i dont live in the county?

Good luck to anyone else applying BTW.

Update.....

I've just rang the recruitment line and due to the number of applicants they are anticipating the sift being completed by the end of Feb.

I've applied.  Not sure about the post code thing as I have a South London one.  It doesn't hurt to try.  Good luck all.

No mate, I spoke to the recruitment line and she said all that had been successful have been informed and letters gone to those who weren't. I've not had either but i'm guessing that I didn't get through.

I asked if there was any feedback available and was told no. I think this is really shabby, I know that they had a lot of applicants (2000+) but I am a serving retained Fire-fighter and thought was application was spot on (my watch manager agreed as much). The only thing I can think I lost out on was the lack of a Herts postcode so the fact I can't find out if this was the case is i think poor.

Good luck to anyone who got through!
