Am I too late to hear about that; Guys? Also am I alone to hear about that too late?
An E.L. is required by BS above each panel in case of power failure, this must be mentioned in a servicing certificate if otherwise... ???
Every day is a school day!

Well yes its a good point but emergency lighting is covered by its own standards- BS5266 / EN1838 and associated commissioning, maintenance and inspection regime.
How far should we go in overlapping standards?
If the power supply to the alarm panel has not been subject to periodic inspection and test in accordance with BS7671 should the fire alarm engineer also raise this as well?

There is couple of things already introduced in the routine servicing and inspection in BS5839 part 1 and BAFE SP203..., the power supply check including its spure fuse, internal fuse, label, alarm test with mains only, output voltage, charging voltage...etc. But the EL is really new to me ??? is't really mentioned indirectly or in some way, by BS5839 part 1?
