I had a nice day out at International Firex this week and enjoyed having a look at systems/products that I hadn't seen before. Many were innovative and useful but one or two left me a bit cold.
One in particular was this Dry Powder Sprinkler Aerosol device. I apologise if it's been discussed here before but I couldn't find it on a search.
It's a combination fixed installation (you leave one or more in the compartment to be protected) or by the fire service as initial knockdown prior to entering the effected compartment.
Has anyone any knowledge or experience of these devices? Are they an inspirational and effective new tool, or an invention of a madman??

Variations on this have been around for many years know, but other than specialist applications haven't ever caught on mainstream, especially the explosive types (although this one doesn't detonate and is more akin to a Purple K automatic extinguisher).
More established, approved & proven products such as small conventional extinguishers with a sprinkler head and Firetrace, both with a wide choice of agents (CO2, Powder, Clean Agent, AFFF) seem to be the most used
