Has anyone seen the new Foundation Degree from the FSA (fire part of the ECA)
I have only had a quick look at it, you basicly have various pathways to gain the degree from Buckingham New University.

Thomas, quite unrelated to your post but...
Is the bad spelling of the word 'wits' in your signature intentional? Is it some sort of irony that is lost on me? ???

More T vicar?

Maybe, I have completely signed up to the wrong forums, we have Colin on medical problems and CivvyFSO correcting spellings

Thomas fear not - ask away - Im your man - a regular Handy Andy I am.
Even Mrs Retty (INNL) admits that the way I re-tiled the hedge in our front garden was a wonder to behold.
-
Hay Retty I have just taken out an old wc pan it would look great as a rose planter alongside your hedge and may come in handy after a night on the tiles. Never mind that its in the garden- people often expect to use the toilet in privet. Mrs Retty (INNL) is sure to love it and would be indebted to you for ever. Shall we say a tenner?
-
Retty, I think the Prof.'s idea is pretty damn good. I know you will struggle with the tenner so maybe we could have a whip-round. Call it a hedge fund if you like.

It is really a good step forward..., if it is academically recognised...! :)

The FPA/FSA brochure came today with the monthly FSE, quite impressed until I did the math.
The cost of the courses, £2481 for the 26 available FA credits, £1548 for the available 26 EL credits.
1-12 credits gets you a BTEC award
13-36 credits gets you a BTEC certificate
37 credits leads to a BTEC Diploma (doesn't say you get it, it says it leads to it)
15 credits from both FA & EL course, with 5 each at professional level CAN lead to a Foundation Degree bridging assignment at another £149 then its just £1000 per year for a 2-3 year course.
I am still interested if I can get it funded by the company but with accommodation, time away from the office etc its basically £10k for a Diploma, is this likely to pay for itself or would the cash be better spent elsewhere. If I had just turned 30 and not 40 maybe......
