Title: EMS panel wouldn't reset from test mode!
Post by: Benzerari on June 11, 2009, 10:49:29 PM
I have seen a network of 5 EMS panels, one Master and four repeaters, the zones of the main panel have been reset properly from test mode but the main panel still show test mode yellow LED ON.

Have checked four other repeaters none of them is set in test mode, is there any other magic way, to reset the network from test mode?

Is it an EMS 5000 system your working with? I can send you the engineers manual if it is that one, on page 32 its got steps "How to take all the zones out of test across a network"

If its of any use, PM me your email and ill send it you in pdf format

Benz....

go into the main menu... ie. press 0 etc etc

go down to :

Fire db ......... Advanced.........Set detection zones..........then you can do "active" , "test" or "disabled".....

choose your poison and i think it then asks you if you want to "transmit event" and this is how you send the global command across the network...

this is from memory and i don't think you'll find it in the manual....!!

Thank you all Guys;

Indeed, I have met today an EMS engineer friend of mine, and he has shown me exactly what you have suggested...

Many thanks

I,ve had this problem once, and the problem was one of the detectors was still in test mode?? re-enabled it then o.k, but if major stuck on the door lid there is a small little hole and behind it is a reset buton, press that and it will reset the panel back to normal.
