Title: PROTEC 400
Post by: Davro on June 15, 2009, 07:21:08 PM
Recently came accross a protec 400 (conventinal) panel, no real problems on servicing as i had a mate of mine with me, but i did notice on the panel there is a test mode indicator. But i could not see in the panel on how to put it in test mode.(found several dil swithces but no real indication on what they do as there were only 8 dil but it was a 12 zone panel. Any info on this panel would be gratefull.

Protec manuals are a bit hard to come by.....will check an old laptop.

dont touch the dil switches!

look on the PCB and theres 2 pins - says something like ET or TEST etc... put a jumper block on it (dont use a piece of wire if you can help it - experience has found it drops off when your furthest away from panel  ;) ), and itll self-reset every fire.

i think if you have 2 fires at the same time across different zones, it might drop out of test - youd have to try it out.. make sure you take the jumper off when youve finished.
