Title: BS 1703-2005
Post by: Geoff on July 15, 2009, 09:01:52 AM
Hi,

I'm hoping that someone can help me with this, we are looking at upgrading the fire protection in our refuse chutes in some of our high rise flats and I believe that the above BS deals with that. I was hoping that someone could give me the bare bones of what it recommends before I go and buy it, as it might give me an idea of likely costs, etc, and whether we actually need to do it.

Any answers gratfully received.

Geoff

Well, it goes something like this...

Specifies requirements for gravity transport systems for refuse in multi-storey buildings, consisting of refuse chutes in the form of one or more vertical pipes, complete with hoppers, receiving refuse from successive floors in a building and discharging it into a refuse storage system.
