Title: menvier MPD 821
Post by: jon b on August 21, 2009, 09:50:01 AM
HI ALL
we have just replaced a number of old menvier smoke detectors on a MF9200 panel with the updated devices mpd821. found that when the devices where tested the panel would not reset the heads. called menvier and they said that the new devices would cause problems on this panel and said we should install 820 devices but i have had no luck in locating the 820 has any body else had this problem and has any body got any 820 i could have if not i will have to replace the panel for our customer

Well (and not casting aspirtions!) they might be more than a little likely to say that!
Have fitted KAC MCP's and Apollo on these with no issue (it is the one with the key, isn't it?).

apollo devices will activate the panel but detector removal fault monitering will not work as the devices use different methods if this is an old system and this is not a consideration the stick in some apollo's

Theres your selling point to the customer.

You could have Menvier heads but its more cost effective to replace the panel and use Apollo!!

Return the Menvier heads as not fit for purpose  ;D
