Hi

has anyone got any latest arson stats to hand? I'm particularly interested in arson in hospitals and public buildings but any stats would be appreciated

http://www.communities.gov.uk/documents/statistics/pdf/1320522.pdf

Not easy reading though. You could try asking the local FRS for their stats.

Thank you Civvy

If I'm reading those stats correctly then there were 12000 deliberate fires in other buildings (not dwellings) in 2007

I thought it would be much higher than that

I'd be interested to know how many more occur during this recession!

Check page 73 for a table that lists deliberate fires in hospitals, including casualties etc.

Or... To save you time...

340 deliberate fires
0 fatal casualties
37 non-fatal casualties

Try Aviva (Norwich Union) they put somthing out earlier this year I think after having looked at thier figures that they reckon arson in commercial premises is now up to 50% of fires. i know that it came through to me on a regular search from googgle but I dont have it to hand
