And you laughed when I said I was a fashion icon. Humble Pie for you davo.

Vesta never made pies in a tin - curries & Chow Mein were their delicious fare. Fray Bentos did (and still do) tinned pies and what a great savoury treat they are to Fishy's Chavvy tastebuds!

Fishy
My favourite when I were a lad were Veg pie in cream sauce and puff pastry topping made by Lockwoods of Huddersfield. Tek thi foil top off and bung int oven fer alfanour!
They only seem to do mushy peas nowadays with more devastating results ::)

battered mars bars...............i think not!!! Whatever next sliced potato in batter

Deep fried ice cream in batter is also most yummy. Don't knock it til you've tried it. (nb. ice cream has tob every very cold so batter almost freezes on it then only seconds in the deep frier to crisp the batter.)

A battered deep fried Curly Wurly is simply delish!
-
I am very impressed with the gastronomic sophistication of the members.

Deep fried tomato soup.
As Mr P says don't knock it until you've tried it :P

As a Wigan Warrior supporter I would assume the biggest intake would be in Wigun ;D I wonder if the fall in pie sales since the early '80's has owt to do with Wigan's drop in success since the '80's (boy, they where the days ;D ) :'( ??
