Can anyone remember or know the rhyme that was used when donning a Proto BA set
it began
While the dresser dresses you
pull out plug an mouthpiece do
i think it ended with
check your sight
your alright

From a copy of 1001 questions and we have since found it in ‘The Fireman’s Quiz’ by H.A Benwell M.C.
On page 39 of the first book and page 29 of the other the poem reads :-
While the dresser buckles you,
Pull out plug and mouthpiece too,
Main valve, lock it; take a reading,
Nose clip; by pass; do your breathing,
Nose clip tight, protect your sight –
Get your light – you’re all right.
Hope it helps

Thanks Maggie. I have been looking for that for some time.

Where's the famous line "And when you run out just roll up your beard and stick it is your gub?"
-
In the interests of practicality that line got deleted when firemen became firefighters.
