Is there a particular reason for addressable panels for marine applications to be no bigger than 2 loop?
And why is the choice of field devices so limited,even down to I/O units - loop powered sounders etc, don't feature at all?

The last marine job I did , was a pain , not only the fire , but bilge pumps ,water tight door contacts ....................... wont be doing another one.
It also goes like that if you have a boat , no you don't want stainless screws , you need marine stainless screws ....kerching ££££££ :P

You're telling me!I'll just have to get my head around the fact that the kit and install hardware costs what it costs, and that the ferry company knows this to be the case.
Our local installers are interested in doing it but wary of either over egging it or not getting caught out, so it might just go out as a supply,test and commission only and let the client get their own guys to do it.

They're upgrading to addressable on this one but it has nine decks so looking like a panel per deck and networked to the master panel up on the bridge.

Kentec do a marine version of the Syncro AS, it can run Hochiki or Apollo protocols.
