Title: De-Commissioned Lift Shaft Detection Help

Hello All, I have a dilemma for you.

A site has an old open top lift that has been de-commissioned and the mains supply disconnected from the source.
As the lift is no longer working, the site are about to board up all of the door ways to the lift and motor room with 1 hour fire rating with no accessibility.

Would the lift shaft and motor room still require detection? (Bear in mind that it will be 100% un-accessible)

If there are no ignition sources, no combustible materials in the shaft, it is of brick or concrete construction and will be totally inaccessible then detection would not be required.
