Title: Section 20 London Building Act
Post by: Mar62 on March 19, 2010, 04:00:09 PM
Hi guys, quick question for a friday afternoon. How do you check whether an old building is covered under Sec 20 LBA. Should it be mentioned in their old fire certificate? Its a very old theatre in the middle of a well known area of London. If its not mentioned in the fire certificate then how do you confirm whether it is or not. Have been in touch with the LFB but they were not able to help??

Have a good weekend all   :)

Check with the London Borough Builidng Control Officers who deal with that piece of Legislation.

Try he sprinkler company , their records are normally excellent, if no good the building insurers might be able to shed some light on it.
You may also find the fire alarm is phased evac so that would also indicate the S20, which is no longer.

Galeon - you said "which is no longer"? Take it you mean S20. LFB have quoted it to me in an email the other day regarding the building!?
