I've recently passed my fitness test in the recruitment procedure and have my interview next. All going well, I will probably be recruited by August.
Unfortunately I don't finish university until next May. Does anybody know if you can delay entrance into the Brigade or do you have to go into the training group you were recruited with?
-
Depends which Brigade you are going into as some will need trainees immediately, but some will take longer.
My opinion is ( depending on your university qualification) that you are currently involved in personal development and these qualifications could be of benefit yo you in the service.
Try and find out when you will have to attend training school first before doing anything else!
your course may be next year and then it won't be an issue so tread carefully here!

I would imagine that you told the service that you are at university and studying on a degree course that ends next May? If so they should have clicked that you can't be on both. Ask them to be sure, they will almost certianly go ahead with the recruitment and be expecting to allocate you on a training course post-uni. If you didn't tell them, well.........................

rainman, the question is 'what did the recruiting advert say'. but the truth of the matter is
1 you should have been honest ?(and i assume you were and told 'them')
2 if they really want you they will offer you an appointment on a later course.

Why would you wish to graduate and then enter an occupation such as the Fire Service. If it came down to a choice what would you want the most the degree or the job. Not that its any of my business but why apply for the one whilst still some way from completing the other.
