Have read the book/research by Philips and remember reading about Summerland in a book years ago (the thin red line) however, does any one have a link or access to a copy of the original commission report?
Regards

I'm afraid not - I didn't pursue a copy of this as the FPA's book about it at the time that I obtained a copy of, plus the extra work by Phillips seemed to cover most things and the cost of obtaining the original report was thus prohibitive in relation to cost, time to track and the additional info it would contain unlike Henderson's and Stardust.
Do you have a specific area of inquiry regarding the incident or are you just curious to read word for word the original findings?

Yes, I have a copy of the original report by the Commission.
Has Philips published his book yet? Just that he and I had a considerable exchange of information but I don't seem able to e-mail him - has he moved to another workplace?

Is it a hard copy or electronic?
His page at the University of Birmingham is still live (as I type!), so that implies he is still there, although it is sometimes not available (presumably due to internal maintenance?)
I think he is struggling to find a publisher as it's a very niche area and the cost of self publishing is presumably prohibitive, which is a shame - I find hard copies easier to read than electronic ones (although they take up a lot of space - the stardust one is about 8" thick when you put all the volumes together!)

Hi AB, JW
No was just curious to read it word for word

My copy is a slightly worn printed copy. Sounds as if I'll have to have another go at Dr Philips!

How many pages (hundreds I'd guess!)

Anthony - not certain if you are asking about the Commission's Report, which has 79 pages of text, 5 of index and 12 of Diagrams and photos plus 3 pages forming two appendices. (And was printed by the local paper in Douglas, although not on newsprint paper!)
Dr Phillip's first draft is 485 pages long including text, diagrams and pictures - quite a 'tour de force'!

I thought it was a good read :)

I meant the Summerland Commission report as I don't have a copy & was wondering about repro costs.
I read Dr Phillips original draft (Word files) a few years ago and it was indeed enlightening. I've not had chance to read the updated version in PDF but not that as well as text revisions further illustrations and photos have been sourced.

Main problem about copying is that it is what I think is known as 'Perfect Bound' with staples close to the bound edge so it's difficult to get the pages flat for copying - not certain what the copyright on this is either as it comes from the IoM.
