Most good equalizers come with a master volume control and you can turn them down.

Most are of an attractive appearance and look good on the shelf or on the computer screen.

All share a common  purpose - to enable one to adjust tonal qualities such that they are pleasing to the ear.

The ones most sought after are of modern design and up to the minute appearance.

Ahhhhh.  I leave it to the reader to draw their own conclusion.
From a wellwisher.

Perhaps what he had in mind was more:

"The(Equalizer) series stars British actor Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, a former secret agent of an unnamed organization, which was often referred to simply as "The Agency" or "The Company", who tries to atone for past sins by offering, free of charge, his services as a troubleshooter (often literally), a protector, and an investigator. People in need find him through a newspaper ad: "Got a problem? Odds against you? Call the Equalizer." In the pilot episode (as he "opens for business"), we discover that the nickname "Equalizer" was bestowed on him by another operative, played by Jewish-American comedian Jerry Stiller.

Aided by a group of sometimes-mysterious contacts (some of whom date back to his spying days), McCall traverses the streets of New York City, visiting justice upon hoodlums, rapists, racists, murderers, kidnappers, drug dealers, and other truly deserving people. His contacts are also prone to human foibles, ranging from egotism to domestic problems."(source wikipedia)

Even so, each time I see him he is more elegent and stylist in appearance and he is always very graphic.

Free of charge? Colin? Are we talking about the same man??
He never lets you forget he is a Scot. In many differnet ways.
I bet he even charges you to be a member of his fan club.  ;)

Why would I want to forget he is Scottish? It is one of his most endearing features. No he doesnt charge me to be a member of his fan club - but he does claim to pay my salary through his taxes. ::)

Well I suppose each to his own.  somehow  though Toddys Best friend you remind me of a story my mum once told me whilst she nursed  me on her knee. It was a story of a PRINCESS who once kissed a toad?

I thought the powers that be who run this site didnt allow mutiple profiles / identities. Colin Todd is the equalizer, a Princess, and now "Toddys best friend". Hang on I thought Midland Rotweiller was Toddy's bestest and only mate in the world.

Kurnalan - you are very perceptive. I did once kiss a frog and think I was a PRINCESS. But Toddy has his own Princess who I could never compete with.

I never saw the series. Did Edwood Wardward ever visit justice on such deserving people as law-breakers with Crown immunity?

But, but, but.... I'm Toddy's best mate.

The other one is an imposter.

Funny, I always pictured Sir Toddy as a much older man weighed down by the vast knowledge formed by decades of experience (and dram in hand ;D)

Correct.  Multiple identities are not permitted.  I can verify that "Toddy's Best Friend" is not "Colin Todd" so no rule has been breached.  We do have ways of verifying this.

Maybe the mystery is solved-perhaps my best mate is indeed the good and wise Cardinal Retty. Clevey, have you thought of staking out his gaff. You would be less noticeable in the streets of Bordesley Green than in a private lane in Surrey.

Firstly the Prof is a moderator? oh crumbs! He'll soon discover that I have multiple profiles on firenet . He''ll find out I write 95% of all posts on firenet using different names!

Secondly I wont have anyone say that my chum Sir Todd is a doppelganger or doule poster. Being the bestest Risk Assessor in all of Rushmore, Surrey, Lord Todd can afford to provide himself with a very comfortable home.  Todd Towers  and its grounds stretch over two counties, so popping round to his neighbours would require a helicopter journey and a very large security detail.

Thirdly. I doubt i could afford to live in the posh tenements of Bordesley Green ! I'm happy with my 30 year old tent on West Bromwich's ring road.

A 30 year old tent on West Bromwich's ring road? The height of luxury! We have to make do with a muddy hole in the bank of the cromford canal.

Grand Wizard Retty,  RushMOOR not rushmore, and since you cannot spell it I am assuming you have never been here to see the grand estate. However, let it be known that there will always be a welcome on the mat for you and the Retty tribe, who will be fed and watered in style should you ever venture to Surrey.

With regard to tenements, I, myself, was brought up in one, which was referred to by the posh skids at school as a slum. What with lath and plaster ceilings (in dubious condition), no self closers on the flat doors, which were furthermore not fire resisting, and plain glazed, non-fr fanlights, it is a wonder that I ever survived the potential fire risk from my father constantly falling asleep on armchairs with cigarette still in hand. All somewhat akin to the risk I read about in Eland House, which I will not be revisiting unless I can be assured that the fire risk has been assessed and adressed, even if invited by the CLG themselves.

Well that's very kind of you Leuitenant Todd, and likewise should you find yourself lost in the deepest darkest parts of the West Midlands conurbation, solace may be found in the modest, yet comfortable surroundings of Retty Towers. Fine Scotch is available at any hour of the day, and fine eating in the form of a local delicacy known as "gray pays" is always to be had. A particular talking point is our aimiable cat, Henry, who has a tendency to give you a funny look  if you eat from his bowl.

I can't help but ask MR and on behalf of the others, are Henry and gray pays linked in any way?
Thinking Is a gray pay is something that Henry does usually in the garden or tray and therefore is a gray pay a W Midlands deli?

All omnipotent Retty, why did you not tell me about Henry before.  Cats are the most wonderful animals in the world. I myself have 3 pedigree Burmese.

I have to be honest Colin, Henry isn't strictly speaking our cat, he is the neighbour's moggy. Im not normally a cat fan, but Henry is more like a dog, and he pops round frequently for a fuss, a biccie and the odd saucer of milk. He even watched the last england match with us last week. He was swiftly ejected from the premises however after he decided it would be acceptable to slurp some of my beer!

So not a cat person really, although that doesn't apply to young ladies named Cat of course.  ;)

You are lucky to get away with giving the neighbours cat a biscuit and saucer of milk. Our neighbours cat is more demanding and frequently enjoys a crepe in the garden.
