For info, Norton rates this site as suspicious!
My computer has asked them to review this ;D

I've not been very impressed with Norton - seems to take up a lot of space and time. I ditched it when I changed computers last year - the new one has Avast! pre-installed by the shop and this seems to operate well but with much less interference with using the computer than Norton did. A couple of friend of mine who are involved with computing professionally also dislike Norton!

With some of the members that are present here is it a wonder? :P ;D
On a serious note though I had problems with Norton on my last computer where it actually considered me a virus!!! It wouldn't let me log on then when I could log on I couldn't get on the internet. Changed to kaspersky on my new one and not had any problems with it since.

Thought you were a kaspersky man yourself Davo?

Hi Prof
Its true, I was but it let a nastie through which trashed my old computer.
I put Norton on my new one last year.
I did try a 30 day trial of Kaspersky 2010 version, but after ten hours it started nagging me to buy every two hours so uninstalled it and went back to Norton.
Avast seems to be the best of the freebies, it only has about 30Mb compared to N & K having over 110 Mb
You still on IE6 ::)

Ive always used AVG free - its never let me done yet in over four years.... (touch wood)

AVG seems pretty good as a freebie basic. Paid for upgrades are supposed to be fair also.
Norton seems to contradict with many other programmes, and unless you keep all updated... but then un-installing Norton - you can never seem to completely get rid of it.
* Cat - YTou're back!?!

Mr P
Have tried AVG, it never found anything, not even cookies :'(
Use Revo Uninstaller rather than Windows for ALL uninstallations, youl'd be surprised what sh*t it finds that Windows leaves behind by using the program uninstallers ;D

I use domestos. Dip my laptop in it every week and have not had a virus yet.
Whilst I'm here anybody any idea why I can't get it to work?
-
NT
If you dip your dongle in domestos you will soon see why your computer doesnt like it.
Davo no its windows 7 and IE8 at this end since I modernised. Dragged kicking and screaming into the steam age. I use macafee cos it was on special offer and darent change it - if it aint broke dont fix it.

Just put mine in a pot of sulfuric (?) acid (whatever it is - worked a treat) all virus' & other bits gone - even the computer has gone. Great Day off, sit back and fall off my chair...
