Gamatech

I have had this with XPs, head fitted six inches away, (yes, I know but our Estates don't check new installs)
Light fitting found to be faulty and charred inside

Are you talking about Apollo Oticals in general or the radio version (Xpander) that the topic title implies ?

There have been other problems with the Xpander kit but I'm not sure if this has all been resolved now.

Give Apollo a ring and ask them.

I have seen other detectors from manufacturers of radio equipment, also going into alarm and/or fault randomly when installed particularly close to light fittings.  Generally found to be fluorescent light fittings!
