Very interesting

The CFOA has posted a comment on this:-

The Chief Fire Officers' Association on Tue, 08 Nov 2011 17:15

We are aware of a growing media interest and clearly FRSs must make their own decisions as to what actions they would wish to take. It is our understanding that this issue only affects smoke detectors fitted since September 2010.

CFOA is very supportive of a thorough independent technical investigation in to these incidents involving smoke detectors but we must stress that these are isolated cases. The outcomes of the investigation will be made public and acted upon accordingly.

Smoke detectors do save lives and CFOA very much supports their continued use.

We would ask that should any member of the public have any concerns that they contact their local FRS.

It will be interesting to see the results

Wasn't there a similar issue with the original Fire Angels that plugged into light sockets?
