Has anyone come across self contained battery only smoke detectors which can be radio linked to each other? I was sure I had a brochure in my memory bank but can't unearth it.

NT. Take a look at the AICO web site they do a stand alone battery ionisation detector that can be wirelessly linked to others and can even be coded to individual house's. Look for EI3100RF, some good technology and a 5 year warranty. Others may be available but these are good.

Yes would agree. Also people like First Alert, Homewatch, Ei Electronics (Ireland) do them as well. AICO supply a lot of radio link accessories to go with the alarms (such as call points, beacons, and gas safety type carbon monoxide alarms)
Just be aware that whichever manufacturuer you choose battery powered wireless detectors can be quite expensive (depends how many you are looking to use of course)

Thanks Colonel. Those are the ones I had the brochure for.

Just for info these have been superseded now and the new ones look much nicer, have a 10 year battery life and the range can be extended.... tis a good product.
