Title: Fire doors on bedrooms above a pub (b&b style)
Post by: Mar62 on June 14, 2012, 08:25:22 AM
Just been to a place yesterday where a pub has b&b rooms above. No automatic fire alarm system at present which is going to be dealt with. The bedroom doors have solid timber doors fitted which are close fitting to the frames, not self closing at present (but that is in hand). My question is that as the doors are a good fit in the frame should smoke seals still be fitted retrospectively and can the fire service insist that they are fitted as they are due to visit soon.

What does your FRA say in justification, if indeed they are fire doors.  What plans are included for the future when refurbishment takes place.  Be aware that the Local Authority may have different ideas to yourself and their Notices hurt.
