Title: EL luminaires with no charger LED

Am I right in thinking that long ago (e.g. when Kurnal was chief officer of Matlock Bath fire brigade) there were self-contained (not CB) luminaires without charger LEDs. If so, how long since they were available.

Self contained units without charging LED's....Havent seen one since i was on the tools, 15 or so years ago, and if I remember correctly they were old then.

(Used to service a few tower blocks in the city - hated having to work out which was an EL and which wasnt. no LEd No Sticker and neck ache for me).

Also used to look after some photo processing (Negatives not Digital), where the Leds were removed intentionally, which is easy to do.
