Whats the flow rate for Hosereels these days? EN 671-1:2012 is no help

30 litres a minute was what was in the old BS5306-1 and as far as I recall that flow rate is still what reels should be tested to when serviced although its quite a while since I've serviced any as they are less and less common these days.

BS 5306-1 refers you to EN671-3 for maintenance.  Unfortunately, EN671-3 (2009 version at least) does not give you any flow rates or throw ranges; only that "the flow of water is steady and sufficient".  As Colin suggests, EN671-1 will give you type testing information.  See below.

I would suggest that the very fact that this information is not detailed in the standard that covers the maintenance of hose reels that the actual flow rate is not that critical.  I'd be happy to go off my own determination of what I considered to be a steady and sufficient flow of water when I rinse the van down in the car park!  ;)
