Title: Candles on christmas trees
Post by: Owain on December 24, 2013, 04:46:08 PM
I vaguely remember Public Information Films about having real candles on christmas trees.

Does anyone remember actually having real candles on trees?

Yes but we were never allowed to light them at our house. The candle holders were metal, flower shaped and had sprung clips to fasten them to the tree, bit like Toddys clip on earrings, you know the sort of thing. The candles were cigarette size and had swirls int he wax.

My neighbour tells me how she used to have lit candles when she was a child.

OMG! We had those too. Don't think we ever used them (didn't even put them on the tree) but I vaguely remember them in The Christmas Suitcase
In The Loft.
