Title: commissioning.
Post by: stevfire2 on April 09, 2014, 07:51:59 PM
i have seen comments about installing extinguishers bought on line, that they must still be assembled, installed and commissioned proffessionally. today, in the new screwfix catalogue, i was surprised to see they now sell a "new extinguisher installation kit" (39.99) to allow the purchaser of on line types to install up to 8 items themselves. includes scales, tags and service labels. any thoughts?

1. Define how it makes the user a competent person by reading a leaflet
2. Whatever happened to verifying the gauge with a gauge tool
3. We might as well abolish technician training, the need for annual servicing and just mandate an extinguisher should be replaced after use or at 5 years
