Post by: lingmoor on September 17, 2014, 02:19:12 PM
Can anyone tell me what material MDF is classed as for SSOF purposes? I see that timber/hardboard/blockboard/particle board can achieve Class 1 I can't find this type of fibreboard

Cheers

they do make flame retardant MDF but you'll need a decent timber merchant

Untreated MDF to EN 622-5 can be assumed to be D-S2 D2 (EN 13986), or Class 3 to BS 476: Part 7.  i.e. not very good!
