HELP HELP
Does anyone have any copies of documents or know what the requirements for Fire Service access would have been in an assembly building in 1983?

Home Office Fire Prevention Note 1/70 - Access for Fire Appliances. But I have not been able to find my copy- will continue to look!

There is a summary of FP Note 1/70 in the 1977 edition of Book 8 of the Manual of Firemanship. Except for single dwellings, blocks of flats or maisonettes, there is no difference in access requirements for different occupancies; the requirements are decided entirely on the volume of the building and its height.
Not greater than 7000cubic metres:
<6m height - pumping appliance to be not more than 46m away from any point within the area of the ground floor
6-9m height - pumping appliance not more than 30m away ........
>9m height - HP/TL to be able to reach at least one-sixth of the total length of the perimeter walls along at least one side or more.
7000-28,400 cm:
<9m height: roads along one or more sides, at least for one-sixth of the total length of the perimeter wall for pumping appliances.
>9m height: roads along two perimeter walls for TL/HP
28,400-56,800 cm:
<9m: Along two perimeter walls for pumps
>9m: Along two perimeter walls for all appliances
56,800-85,200 cm: Along three perimeter walls for pumps (<9m height) or all appliances if >9m height
>85,200cm: access all round
