Hi guys
Anyone know of the requirement specifically for location of industrial boilers and gas meters, as I have been to a building with a small room with no compartmentation, flammables and various sources of ignition present?
I've been looking on the net alll afternoon and the THE GAS SAFETY (INSTALLATION AND USE) REGULATIONS 1998 or approved doc 'B' dosent really say much

anyone?

anyone?
Calm down Jasper. It's rather rude to post the above just to put YOUR topic to the top. I'd also ask you to keep to one user ID on this forum please.
I deleted your other post, as it is also unacceptable to post the same post in various forums.
Please have more respect for the other users of the forum.

Hi Chris,
I apologise for bumping the post up, as I didnt realise it was forbidden.
RE: the id, I always use either my name or jasper (my dogs name) but when I run antivirus it deletes all passwords etc. If I was messin about I wouldnt put my e-mail address in and just go 'anonymous'
Sorry guys

Is it forbidden Christopher???? Bit hard on the poor chap. Its not as though he is like wee Marky Coram of the ODPM (who we all remember with nosalgia), who prior to going off fire and fixing the gypsies pretended he was a small businessman so he could throw dirt anonymously and then used the name puzzled, which we all were at his antics. Anyone, if he is a dog lover he cant be all bad.

Mr Todd, the esteemed member has appologised and that is the end of the matter. I see now that no harm was probably intended, but as I chastised the other guy, it's only fiar that everyone else is reminded of normal forum etiquiete (spelling not being important).

Were it to be new build, a boiler room is a place of special fire hazard under ADB (assuming that the building is in E&W. As such it would need enclosed in FRC ( as I recall it is 30 minutes under the AD and 60 mins under BS 5588-11, but I do not have either doc handy, so you should check this for yourself). As for existing, you need to make a judgement.
