Title: Notifying Ops Of Vulnerable Persons Within a Premises
Post by: Tadees on January 15, 2015, 10:56:02 AM
Is there a means of fire risk assessors, local authorities etc. notifying their local fire service of vulnerable persons within a premises so that on their way to an incident they can say, have a brief two line summary of the person?s condition and what assistance they may need, even though it is not the operational guys? responsibility to evacuate vulnerable persons?

We certainly have the facility to put information on turn out info. We put information such as " hoarder" "disabled", "oxygen user" "sleeps down stairs". We work in partnership with lots of different agencies including social services, housing associations, local councils.

I would encourage you to contact the relevant FARS.

Several have specialist vulnerable Persons (VP) teams within their community safety (CS) teams . They inform the ops guys and control staff. Contact your Fire HQ and ask for CS and or look at their website.
