Just a little query people for some assistance with my camera.
I do take quite a few photos doing my surveys and I would note down the pic number from the camera on a drawing, if I am using one, to help remind me of the location. Problem is when I download the pics onto my computer the numbers change.
Does anyone use or know of a camera where a reference number is embedded on the pic or is there another way?

If you are using a digital camera, then each frame should be uniquely identified. Most cameras give you the choice of either continuing a sequence of numbers regardless if you have downloaded a previous batch, or to reset to '1' once the memory card has been cleared of previous images. In the latter case, if you start a survey with a 'clean' card, then your numbers should match with your notes.

Many cameras have an option to include the date/time embedded into the visible image (as well as into the photo metadata), and more expensive ones will include GPS coordinates in the metadata.

NT I always scratch the number onto the glass plate before I emerge from the black hood. It works a treat for me.

I thought you did a quick sketch on a slate K. You always produced a heavy report.
