Post by: Tom Sutton on June 29, 2015, 03:00:14 PM
Could dry water mist extinguisher be considered a replacement for a ABC dry powder now they have been considered not for use in an indoors situation?

It's indeed been used as a replacement for water, CO2, Powder and Wet Chemical in many situations and suits it well, it's only weakness is a low class B capability.

I always think of dry water as something if an oxymoron.  I think Big Al should run a competition to find a better one if such a thing is impossible How about I start it with self-deprecating, open minded, always willing to listen, shy and retiring I/O of LFEPA.

Thanks AB I think another down is the cost but I believe the guy who worked on the design of the nozzle has come up with a new cheaper version and is now looking for a manufacturer so maybe the price could be coming down.

Depending what risk the powder covered you could always use Britannia Fire's standard Blazex range, it's got the electrical fire usage on it's wets, a much cheaper alternative to mist - 60% cheaper!
