I am looking to refresh my knowledge of BS 9999 (Fire Safety in the Design, Management and Use of Buildings) as I haven't had the opportunity to use it as fully as I would have liked, and have found myself just dipping in and out of the same few sections every time.
Plus the last course I went on was 6 years ago and my grey matter doesn't seem to retained unused stuff as readily as it once did. In addition, I am being encouraged by my employer to take advantage of some training money someone has found down the side of the corporate sofa, so I need to book it NOW before somebody else spends it!
The trouble is that most providers of 'introduction to BS 9999' type courses haven't published their schedule for 2016. This include FRS, Fire Service College, and a well know Fire Safety Company in Surrey ::) who say they do 9999 training on one webpage, but don't provide any details on their course list(?) - As a result, I am a bit stuck
Does anyone have any knowledge of a training provider who is offering BS 9999 courses in 2016? In or near London would be best, but I will travel

Not in London, usually use the old BT college at Yarnfield, Staffordshire. -

I did mine through this company, it was good at the time but like you I did mine many years ago. The best input I had was through UCLAN, I believe the lecturer still does some CPD training, not sure where or when though. As for its practical use, it seemed really popular 3/4 years ago but I don't see many consultations using it recently.

My company does this.

We will be doing some in 2016 in London, but I am sure you would not wish to hear me, Davey.

Ah Colin, how wrong you are - but mainly because I am desperate! ::) ::)
Seriously, if you can let me know when, where and the likely costs, I would be much obliged

Cant you cycle down to Avon for one of Ashes courses?

A revised 9999 will ber going out for DPC soon. Maybe wait for the new one next year.

That's very useful information. Many thanks. Have you any idea how long this process might take? One assumes that upgrading/updating a BS (even one the size of 9999) will be quicker than introducing a new one (like the water mist DD which is taking forever!)?

Last I heard, the DPC will run over April and May Next year. But they are trying to do it sooner. There's only one more drafting panel meeting scheduled and thats in December.
How long it takes to adress the comments depends on how many there are. I suppose we're talking early 2017.
A revision of BS 9991 was published this week.
