Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good package which can be used to input fire risk assessments?
I currently use an MS Word template which I have created, but I am looking for something more efficient.
I am not looking to automate generic reports but would benefit from having a system where I could select and amend regular comments, hazards recommendations etc which can be altered and applied specifically to properties. Thanks

I can't recommend any packages but there are two ways round this issue.
1. Create your own set of standard observations and comments then simply cut and paste into the Word document.
2. If you are dealing with a number of very similar premises with similar issues then produce a pre-written assessment than modify it to fit the premises you have just inspected.
Both systems work and will save time the major problem is that you will need to be very careful that you retain the accuracy. the problem comes if for example most of the premises have more than one floor and you use a standard comment about escape stairs and you come across a single storey premise but leave the comment about stairs in it.

We are currently looking into developing a web based FRA template, where you would access the template from any device as long as you have web access, then could work off line on site, complete when back at base. I will be in touch with more info if you require.

Take a look at Typeit4me, its a programme where you can make up your own recommendations, hazards remedies, references etc. to enter the phrase you want just type the short cut for the phrase and the system enters it at the cursor.
