Title: Where Should I Advertise a Fire Safety Vacancy?
Post by: Messy on December 08, 2016, 04:32:41 PM
I will be involved with a fire safety recruitment campaign after Christmas for an experienced and pragmatic fire safety advisor. There is a limited advertising budget

Can anyone advise me where I should spend that budget? Where are the best websites/trade magazines or other places where I can get the best return for my investment? I will be looking to place the Ad in multiple sites/publications

Many thanks

Are you looking for any background in particular- ex fire service, structural or fire engineer, BCO , facilities manager etc?
Any particular skill set e.g. HTM?
Geographical location- are you offering enough to tempt someone to relocate their family?

Probably the best bet for traditional national advertising IMO would be the IFE, IFSM and IFPO journals. It's likely that the person you are looking for will be a member of one of these. But you could probably do a lot online with the institutions networks and linked in? And don't forget to consider Crisis Response Journal!

Look at the IFSM web site, you can send a message out to all members for a small fee.

Don't forget LinkedIn (so long as you've a reasonable number of contacts...).

You could post it on a LinkedIn group such as IFE or a FRA group with more members

Many thanks for  the suggestions, particularly Linkedin groups - I dont use it and was not aware of the groups.

It was so much easier when there was only Fire Magazine. When I looked at their website that had no jobs on offer at all.

Thanks again
