Title: Domestic kitchens - gas regs - fire safety
Post by: Fire Monkey on January 03, 2017, 12:24:39 PM
Happy New Year to all.

Can any one advise/provide a simple explanation of the most recent gas regulations and how these impact on domestic kitchen design. This is in relation to spacing on cupboards to both sides of a 4 burner gas hob, the presence of a cupboard above the hob (above in internally re-circulating 'extraction' system) and the height of the extractor to the hob (taking into account manufacturers guidance on both). This is not in relation to landlords.

I know this is more gas safety than fire safety but I think there is enough cross over here, and with so many experienced people on the site I would value your knowledge.

Thanks

Monkey.

I doubt the gas safety (installation and use) regs cover this. probably the manufacturers guidance for the hob is more relevant.

I think there's an HSE ACOP for the gas regs.

Is there maybe a BS on gas appliance installation?
