Title: Balcony Smoke Ventilation & Pigeon Netting
Post by: Tadees on October 19, 2017, 12:03:52 PM
Hi All,

Would there be an issue in terms of smoke ventilation in a purpose-built block of flats if pigeon netting is provided on the balcony from which the flats are accessed?

I can't seem to attach a photo, but examples are available though a simple online search.

I don't think so.

I think this netting was implicated in the lakanal house fire - burning droplets from the netting dropping down to lower balconies etc.
