Post by: Richard Halcomb on October 20, 2005, 06:20:37 PM
Hi to everyone!

I am a firefighter from Sydney Australia, with the New South Wales Fire Brigades. I am interested in swapping items of uniform etc with firefighters form outher parts of the world... as I am sure others are too!

If there is anyone out there who is interested, please reply, or click the email link to get in touch with me!

Be Safe,

richard, most uk firefighters are of a slim but muscular build (cough, cough) similar to Lord Flintoff of Preston! is it true your helmets (fire) all have corks on them?

We did used to have corks on the helmets... but we found that the smoke kept the flies away just as effectively, without having the whole flash-of-flame-around-your-helmet issue! We have had to retain the cork fly defence on our dress uniforms though... silver plated of course!
