Hi,
Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of guidance/offer opinions on appropriate Fire Marshal arrangements in a large office which has adopted flexible/mobile working? Staff are often working from home or in different parts of the building when in the office. So it's not practical to assign traditional Fire Marshals who are based in, and responsible for designated areas.
It seems like the only realistic options are doing away with Fire Marshals in designated areas, with individuals taking more responsibility for following the evacuation procedures; or increasing the number of trained Fire Marshals, with arrangements in place the staff to take up the role in the area in which they find themselves in should it be necessary to evacuate. Neither seem ideal.

Also answered via PM elsewhere. Some premises used a card system with staff on a particular floor at the time of alarm taking a card and following the sweep instructions and handing the card to the evacuation co-ordinator. It works reasonably well and better than nothing at all.
