Title: emergency lighting monthly checks
Post by: lingmoor on April 23, 2012, 02:10:09 PM
Can I ask you how you go about doing these, ie do you have an electrician doing them full time?  some hospitals can have up to 2000 units

cheers

At the hospital sites we have dealt with an electrician doesn't need to do the monthly tests as testing points are installed and as over each month all parts of the estate have been visited at least once as part of the maintenance & estates team's routine inspection & PPM programme, so the testing is easily incorporated.

We're similar, we conduct monthly "flick" tests but these are not necessarilly undertaken by an electrician.

Thank you both for your replies. A hospital I know has 1800 units and has not been carrying out the monthly test. They are now talking about employing someone full time to do just that.

Check under my mattress Hugo before being so sure. Besides which, as a Weedgie, you must know the odd gangster or two who has hidden their proceeds of crime for years.
