Last time I had anything to do with this, and assuming it's a UK project, I seem to recall that BS 6164 - Code of practice for health and safety in tunnelling in the construction industry was the main reference document.

Thanks Fishy I'd clocked that BS as well just wanted to make sure there was nothing else I missed, but I think the BS really is the only form of guidance atm
