Fire alarm component compatibility - Simplex/Notifier
« on: March 07, 2004, 12:17:57 PM »
JP2004 posted the below in the "Control" section of the BBS, but I thought it more appropriate (& more likely to be answered) in the Fire SAfety section, so reproduce it below:-

"I have a Simplex panel . We have two new offices and have to install some smoke detectors, pull station , heat detectors but all of them are Notifier .
Are they compatible with Simplex fire panel_

Thanks!
JP"

The simplex panel I suspect is analouge addressable, therefore the only way of adding additional detectors/callpoints onto the addressable loop is to use Simplex products.

Alternatively most addressable systems have a facility to interlink conventional detectors by use of detector modules. If the Notifier detectors and callpoints are conventional then this is relatively straightforward.

I could let me know some more details I could provide additional guidance.
